New York, New York!

Long time, no post. Three months in Spain changed my life in many ways. Aside from now being a Grandpa, my life routines were rearranged significantly. I am still working on creating my new "back home" schedule after a little over a month since our return. Making progress, and I thought a quick picture post would help get me back into the saddle.

When we flew home from Espana, we stayed over in New York for a full day to adjust our internal clocks, and rest our butts. Kim had planned the day months in advance (surprise!) and so we had a great tour of the Statue of Liberty and Ellis all lined up. Unfortunately the weather was pretty dreary, but that didn't dampen our enthusiasm a bit. 

After an uneventful subway ride, we climbed aboard our ferry at Battery Park.

Looking up at Lady Liberty was very emotional.
She was completely restored in 1996-97.

The original torch is inside the museum in the base.

After we came back down, I couldn't resist some more close up

We got back on the ferry and headed over to Ellis Island after touring the
Statue.

The old immigration building is a beautiful piece of architecture that must
have truly impressed those seeking a new life in America.

We took the last boat back to New York that evening.

The skyline was impressive in the twilight fog.

After our day trip we went back to our room in Brooklyn, and finished off a pizza we had bought the night before. Probably the best pizza I have ever eaten. I hope we get to show all of this to our grand baby some day...that will be awesome!
